When I didn't understand algebra at age 9, I should have realized a career in science was all over for me.

(Not really, but boy do I remember my dad getting pissed when I didn't understand that you had to put all the unknowns on one side. This was before we learned algebra in school a few years later. And all those other math education moments that ended in tears, yet determination to make my dad proud someday.)

Really into Them Crooked Vultures at the moment. Oh Josh Homme, I wanna do bad things with you. I am very into True Blood. I am sorry I doubted you on account of Twilight retardation.

Everything is falling apart around me. This time "everything" means my electronics and other tangible goods. My beloved Toshiba ("Toshi") of 3 years is freezing up every now and then. I have to reset about 5 times before it goes back to normal. My Sennheiser earbuds I got back in February-March are dead on the left side. My iPod barely lasts two days anymore. These H&M 20den tights are not meant to last more than a few wears, are they? At $4 a pair, most people wouldn't give a shit and simply make another trip to the ol' instant fashion factory and stock up on some cheaply made products (how can I say no to a $15 silk-like button-up?). A pair of flats I got from Urban Outfitters in June are starting to get holes in them. I patched the inside up with black hockey tape. My toes aren't that sharp ;_;

Last night, the urge to look up "Denmark" on tumblr overcame me. It's like torture. The familiar sights, the feeling of warmth, the open spaces and overwhelming sense of "newness". Montreal, however, is wonderful. I'm realizing all this beauty that I've passed by. I've remained mostly sober the past few weeks. I've not cared much about boys (yet) this year. To be absolutely frank, as it sounds absurd for me, I have no feelings there whatsoever. The "boy crazy" me is dead. My books are the only ones in my bed now. (Oh, facade! I assure you: I have done more regular readings that I have all year.) Not that I couldn't go for one if he presented himself. See: Cute German boy in my CS class who must have thought I was stalking him as we followed the same path after class to the Engineering building. I just needed to print stuff, goddamn!

Why am I more afraid to go to class for the first time than moving to a different country? Maybe it's because class is in 9 hours and I am so exhausted from coming back from Turkey. Maybe it's because the class notes are entirely in Danish.

WELL, HEJ THERE.

Lady GaGa blew me AWAY. I was so emotional during the entire concert, because of how much she cared for her fans. It's part of showmanship, yes, but how many artists nowadays would do this? Most of the shows I've been to, the singers just say "HEY MONTREAL!!" once and that's it. She talked about her album, how far she's come along, how much she owes her dad... all these things that make her entirely human in my eyes. She was over the top with her costume and sets. She never lip synched. The grand piano was out for three songs (she did both acoustic and regular versions of Poker Face yaya). Everyone was up and dancing, it was fantastic. She did keep people waiting for 2 and a half hours (and we arrived like 2 hours after the supposed start time, then collectively blew at least $40 on food. Smart). I am now a member of the Cult of GaGa.

I'm going to Denmark!! I talked to a REAL LIVE Danish person today. See how sheltered I am?
Most of what I know about Denmark comes from hetalia. In fact, country relationships are something I won't be able to get out of my mind when I'm traveling. -_- I've been seeing references to Denmark EVERYWHERE lately, but it must be because I perceive Denmark so quickly now. Yesterday I couldn't pass on this notebook on sale at this paper shop that said "Hej!" on the cover. And I look forward to COP15 and the aftermath of that.

I just have to keep my grades up, ackkk. I have little hope for computer science, but I realize that it's practice that I'm missing. I get shite marks, then I don't want to try, and it's just a cycle. Before I can go to the teacher crying WHY CAN'T I UNDERSTAND, I should try it first.

I'm gonna admit, I'm a Pitchfork follower. Nevertheless, Animal Collective is not "anytime music" and most listenable when you are not stressed and when you first wake up.

Thank God, we're starting HTML in comp sci. The one thing in the universe I have a semi-handle on. Take that, all you engineering kids who know C and swear by Unix OSes. Although they probably taught themselves HTML when they were 10 too. orz orz orz

The way Stephen Colbert always tries to name things after himself makes me laugh.

Final Fantasy music is so good... could it be the nostalgia factor? Nothing else compares. I was listening to FFVI soundtrack last night and I was actually quite blown away again. A 16-bit console created that music. The synth orchestras! Pseudo-voices!

On the discussion board of my computer science class last year, we were talking about what we listened to while programming. The prof himself mentioned that he liked listening to video game tracks when he was younger, but he would be a little embarrassed to show that to anyone. I said he didn't have to be embarrassed because it was so good. I forgot that back then, video games were more taboo and a bigger indicator of "nerd-dom" and ostracism. Now it's nerd cred. Gets you the ladies.

Final Fantasy 7 is over 10 years old... That's half my life. This game came out when I was in 4th grade. Video game music was half my library when I was 12. Do you feel old too?

I went figure drawing for the first time tonight, and my love of drawing has come back. It was much more relaxing than the yoga class I was supposed to go to. To be honest, it comes and goes. I haven't done anything but doodle in months. My faces are still incredibly anime-fied. I'm working on it! But letting my pencil slide along the rolls, the curves and creases of the body brought something back tonight.
